The convoy event is officially recognized as the “D-Day
Rollout 2014.” Vehicles in the convoy are authentic military vehicles from the
1940’s and 1950’s owned by private individuals. The convoy is estimated to be
comprised of about 20-25 vehicles. The Utah National Guard is supporting this
event and will be providing facilities for convoy participants at Camp Williams
and will also be providing an escort of modern military Humvee vehicles.

Our mid-way point and lunch-break location will be Fort Douglas Military Museum. We will make a stop here to take a break, have lunch and check out the museum. The museum is coincidentally hosting the Utah Fallen Warrior Remembrance event on the day of the convoy.

Our main goal is to remember those who have served and who are sadly leaving us rapidly - WWII Veterans. Additionally, we want to honor all veterans of the US Armed forces and their families. This event also gives vehicle owners an opportunity to display and have fun in our vintage military vehicles, which to us are a testament to American ingenuity and productivity.

We welcome anyone with a vintage military vehicle to participate in the convoy. The WWII era is the focus, but vehicles from other eras are welcome also. WWII period dress during the event is encouraged!

Our convoy route is in the works - stay tuned for updates!

WE WANT VETERANS! If you know of a WWII veteran, we invite you to invite him/her to participate with us! We would be honored to have them ride along in one of our vehicles for any portion of the event, or even just to meet us at one of our rally locations. Please contact us directly if you have a veteran who would like to participate.

Those interested in WWII but who do not have vehicles are also encouraged to get geared up and find a ride.

This is an "informal" event, meaning that we are not charging any fees to participate. This also means that everyone who does participate is fully responsible for their own actions and for the legal status of the vehicle they own/operate (licensed, registered, insured, obey traffic laws, etc.).

Visit this page and our facebook page (www.facebook.com/ddayrollout) for the latest updates. We hope to make this a great event!Lance Jensenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16227861990620543226noreply@blogger.com0
